CSV Editor & Reader Desk

描述

Open the CSV that Excel and Numbers give up on. CSV Desk streams the file from disk instead of loading it into memory, so a multi-gigabyte export opens in seconds and scrolls at millions of rows. The largest file tested is 5 GB. It sits between a spreadsheet and a database. You get the answers a database would give you without learning to ask for them, and without the wall of toolbars. --- OPENS THE FILE, WHATEVER SIZE - Multi-gigabyte CSVs open in seconds - Millions of rows, scrolling smoothly - Memory stays flat, because rows are read from disk as you scroll --- CHECKS THE FILE BEFORE IT LOADS - The import preview detects the delimiter, the encoding and the header row, and shows you what it found - Comma, tab, semicolon, pipe, or a separator you type yourself - UTF-8, UTF-8 with BOM, Latin-1 and Windows-1252 - Metadata blocks above the real header are skipped, the kind analytics exports start with --- GETS YOU TO THE ROWS YOU WANT - Click a header to sort. Type under one to filter - Find and replace runs across the whole file, not the visible part - Edit cells with 50 levels of undo - No formulas, and no query language to learn --- TELLS YOU WHAT IS IN EACH COLUMN - Type, how complete it is, distinct counts, ranges and the most common values - Select a block of cells for its count, sum, average, minimum and maximum - A written summary of the whole dataset, generated on your Mac --- LEAVES YOUR VALUES ALONE - Leading zeros stay. A 16-digit ID does not become 1.23457E+15. Dates keep the format they were written in - Export writes back the delimiter, quoting, encoding and line endings the file arrived with - Export the filtered view or the whole file - The file you open is treated as read-only source. Saving asks where to write, so nothing overwrites your original unless you pick it --- NOTHING LEAVES YOUR MAC - Sandboxed with no network access, incoming or outgoing - No account, no sign-in, no data collection --- GOOD TO KNOW - The written summary and the plain English filter need Apple Intelligence, which means macOS 26. The statistics, the filters and everything else work on every supported Mac - No charts, and no .xlsx import or export. CSV and delimited text only - One file open at a time Requires macOS 12 (Monterey) or later.
