What's new in this version of Newsbin This update makes large libraries dramatically faster, brings back detailed refresh progress, and fixes several feeds that were showing no articles at all. New - Update All Favicons: a new button in Sidebar settings refreshes every feed icon at once. Newsbin also quietly upgrades generic icons in the background. - New portrait extra-large widget, with a refreshed widget header. - macOS: click the activity area in the sidebar to see a timestamped log of recent refresh activity. - Apple Intelligence now works on Vision Pro. Improvements - Much faster and lighter with large libraries. The article list now loads in pages and grows as you scroll, so opening a tab with tens of thousands of articles no longer loads them all at once. - Detailed refresh progress is back: per-feed validation, a live count of new articles as they arrive, and a real progress bar. - Article counts in the header now describe the whole tab rather than the portion currently loaded. - Mark Above and Mark Below now cover the entire tab, not just the loaded articles. - Smoother pinch-to-zoom on article images. - iPad: the sidebar now stays open or closed the way you left it, instead of collapsing on every launch. - Articles older than your expiration setting are no longer re-imported as new and unread on every refresh. - Less background work on iPhone and iPad when no Apple Watch is set up to receive it. Alert feeds now get sensible names, and their links open the publisher's story instead of a Google redirect. - Fixed feed entries silently going missing, including YouTube Shorts and music videos, large full-text feeds that timed out mid-download, and Atom feeds with older dates. - Fixed articles appearing as unreadable garbled characters when a site sent compressed data Newsbin didn't ask for. - Fixed "Clear all" appearing to do nothing, and the scroll-to-top button not working, at the bottom of a long unread list. The list now refills itself as you read down it. - Fixed summaries failing with "Summary unavailable" when Apple's Private Cloud Compute had trouble. Newsbin now falls back to the on-device model, and a genuine Apple outage is named as such in the reader. - Fixed Vision Pro showing "Summary unavailable" on every article. - Fixed a typed feed icon URL not being saved when editing a feed. Clearing the field now re-detects the icon. - Fixed duplicate Edit buttons in Settings → Connections, and moved the Edit controls to the trailing edge. - Fixed paging back and forth in the reader stopping partway through a large library. - Keyboard shortcut settings are now hidden on platforms that don't support them.
