Guitar Vocoder makes your guitar — or any instrument — talk, sing, and robo-funk, using the timeless vocoder effect heard on countless records. It is a standalone Mac app: not a plugin, no DAW required. Feed it two sounds: a CARRIER (your guitar, synth, or bass) and a MODULATOR (a voice). Guitar Vocoder analyzes the moving spectral shape of the voice and stamps it onto the instrument, so your guitar appears to speak the words while keeping its own pitch and character. It is the sound behind talkbox solos, robot choirs, and vocoded hooks. DESIGNED TO BE EASY • Two macro knobs — Response and Clarity — steer a full multi-band engine underneath, and a Mix knob blends the effect back against the dry instrument. • Five presets: Classic Robot, Talking Guitar, Warm Choir, Crisp Talkbox, and Subtle Blend. • Three built-in examples plus a synthetic demo, so you hear a real result the moment you open the app. • Big, legible controls and a frosted-glass interface that looks great in light and dark. REAL VOCODER DSP • 8, 16, 24, or 32 analysis bands with a logarithmic band-pass filter bank. • Per-band envelope tracking with a dedicated path for crisp consonants and intelligibility. • Advanced controls when you want them: analysis frequency range, carrier high-pass, and output gain. • A live spectral meter with true level colors (green → amber → red) that follows whatever you are auditioning. BRING YOUR OWN SOUND • Import guitar and voice in any common audio format — WAV, AIFF, MP3, M4A and more. • Audition the guitar, the voice, and the vocoded result side by side. • Export your creation as a 24-bit WAV. PRIVACY FIRST • Everything runs locally on your Mac. No account, no tracking, no data collected, nothing uploaded. The app never touches the network. Whether you are a guitarist chasing the man-machine talkbox sound, a producer building vocal hooks, or just having fun, Guitar Vocoder gets you there in seconds. Requires macOS 13 or later.

We've improved playback stability when switching between carrier and modulator sources, and fixed a rare issue where the spectral meter could stutter during long sessions. • Carrier and modulator import now handles edge cases in MP3 metadata more gracefully • Response and Clarity knobs respond more smoothly across their full range without stepping artifacts • Export to 24-bit WAV is now faster on Apple Silicon Macs • Minor refinements to the frosted-glass interface rendering in dark mode Thanks for making your guitar talk — keep sending us what you create with it.
