Noden is a native macOS client for everything you connect to: SSH and SFTP, RDP remote desktops and serial consoles, with a Touch ID password vault and an AI assistant that actually does the work. Everything in one fast, native window: multi-session terminals, a dual-pane file manager, Windows desktops, console-cable sessions, and secrets behind Touch ID. TERMINAL • Open as many SSH sessions as you like, as tabs or in a split grid to watch several servers at once. • A full xterm-compatible emulator with colour themes, custom fonts, scrollback and bell. • A shell on your own Mac too: ⌘T connects to this Mac over SSH, so you get your real PATH, Homebrew and dotfiles. macOS asks you to switch on Remote Login once, and Noden takes you straight to the setting. • Name a tab and give it a colour, so the production box never looks like the test box. YOUR SERVERS, YOUR ORDER • Groups inside groups: a company, then its data centre and head office, then the VLANs inside them. • Drag connections and whole groups into the order you want. It is saved, so you never need to number your servers by hand. • The sidebar marks the session you are looking at, and marks other connected sessions more faintly. • Search across names, hosts and usernames. SFTP FILE COMMANDER • Local and remote side by side. Drag and drop to transfer in either direction. • Open a remote file in your favourite Mac editor and Noden syncs your changes back automatically when you save. • Pop the file browser out into its own window next to a terminal. AI ASSISTANT • Describe what you want in plain English; Noden proposes the exact commands and runs them on the active server, with a guard that flags destructive ones before they execute. • Use Noden's own tuned model, or bring your own provider (OpenAI, Groq, OpenRouter, or a local model). BUILT FOR MAC • Uses the SSH keys already in your ~/.ssh (ed25519 / ecdsa), nothing to re-type. • Import your servers straight from ~/.ssh/config. • Export every connection to a single password-encrypted backup, or restore it on another Mac. • Passwords and keys live only in your Mac's Keychain, never on our servers, and file contents are never collected. PASSWORD VAULT • Passwords, SSH keys, API tokens and secure notes, protected by Touch ID and stored only in your Mac's Keychain. • Link a connection to a vault entry: change the password once and every connection that uses it picks up the new value. • Type a password from the vault straight into the terminal (perfect after sudo su); it never lands in your command history. • Encrypted vault export and import for backups or moving to a new Mac. REMOTE DESKTOP & SERIAL • Windows machines over RDP in the same window as your SSH sessions: full screen, shared folders, clipboard both ways, printers and smart cards. • Start a program instead of the Windows desktop, or have Noden run one for you once you are signed in. • Keyboard layout, Num Lock, connection speed, restricted admin mode and separate gateway credentials, all per connection. • If a server restarts, Noden keeps reconnecting and tells you what it is doing. • Serial console support for routers, switches and embedded boards, with presets for common vendors. COMMAND HISTORY • Searchable command history across sessions, with one-click copy and run-again. Older commands are archived, not lost. This release comes almost entirely from one customer's list. Thank you. New: groups inside groups A group can now hold other groups, so the sidebar can follow how you actually work: a company, then its data centre and head office, then the VLANs inside them. Right-click a group and choose New Subgroup, or type a path straight into a connection's Group field, like PTT/DATA CENTER/SYS_Vlan. Nothing changes for the groups you already have. They stay exactly where they are. New: put connections and groups in the order you want Drag a connection onto another one to place it above it, or onto a group header to move it into that group. Drag a group header to reorder groups, and a line shows you where it will land. The order is saved, so you no longer need to number your servers by hand. New: you can see which server you are on The sidebar marks the session you are looking at with a coloured row and a bar down its left edge. Sessions that are connected but sitting in another tab get a lighter version of the same mark, so "connected" and "in front of me" are two different things at a glance. Fixed: the tabs in the connection editor could pile up on top of each other On some Macs the seven tabs across the New and Edit Connection window were drawn in the same spot and became unreadable. Noden now draws its own tab strip, so the layout is the same on every Mac, screen scale and language. Fixed: a duplicated connection jumped back to its old group Duplicating a connection gave the copy the original's position in the list. Two entries then shared one slot, the order shifted between redraws, and moving the copy to another group looked as if it had been undone. Renaming a group also used to throw away your manual ordering. Fixed: a restarted server left a black tab When a Windows machine restarted, the session kept showing the last frame, a black rectangle, with no sign of what was happening. The automatic reconnect also gave up on its first try, because the server was not answering yet. Noden now shows the connection screen with "Reconnecting...", keeps trying for two minutes, and offers a Reconnect button if that is not enough.
