《Frostpunk 2》將城市生存類遊戲提升到全新境界。玩家必須肩負起總管的職責，在這個冰天雪地的末日後世界，帶領城市撐過接連來襲的毀滅性災害。建造起大型城市區域後，居民源源不絕的需求便接踵而來。這座大城市裡有形形色色的勢力，你得在各方交錯的利益衝突之間尋出一條生路。城市的各種需要節節攀升，盤據其中的勢力逐漸壯大，未來充滿了不確定性，只有你能引導整個社會繼續向前邁進。 城市不斷發展 前所未見的寒冬籠罩了全世界，人類若想存活下去，只能不斷擴展城市。城市若要發展壯大，就需要煤炭、石油等資源，如同市民需要食物和保暖。《Frostpunk 2》便由你負責處理這永無止盡的供需循環。 城市區域 城市區分成許多區塊，各有不同用途，例如住宅區和開採區。你必須建造新區域，同時也要確定既有區域能和諧運作。 專用建築 不久後，你還需要建造市政廳或研究院等場所。你可以在此類建築內研討法條、制訂計畫，引導城市朝合宜的路線發展。 聚落 為了確保城市穩步成長，你必須冒險踏入凍土。你可以在凍土四處建造大規模聚落，由這些聚落提供所需的一切資源。 人性危機 隨著市民人數穩定增加，管理人民和滿足需求的工作越發艱辛。身為總管的你得八面玲瓏，妥善應對城市裡不同群體的利益得失。 新倫敦市民 你的市民會形成各種社區和勢力，各自對城市的未來懷抱不同的想法。你得在議會廳裡研討法律，並且與各個勢力的代表協商。 議會廳 想要在議會廳裡獲得各派勢力的支持，所需付出的代價不小。某一派勢力崛起，其他勢力的不滿就會浮現。因此結交每個盟友都需要你再三思量。 推動進步 研究院是形塑城市未來的所在。每項新計畫都必須託付給某個勢力執行，因此你一定得在各個勢力之間巧妙周旋，並且建立起策略性的同盟。 勢力 城市裡的民眾會想對你的治理方針提出意見。每個勢力對未來都懷抱著各自的理想和看法，不過同樣對權力貪得無厭。在議會廳挑選盟友時，務必要明智。 故事模式和烏托邦建設者模式 《Frostpunk 2》講述了以嚴寒廢土為背景的多章節長篇故事，與總管一起走過這一生。玩家能透過故事模式親身體驗領導者的沉重責任，承擔起數千人的寶貴性命。而烏托邦建設者模式則是沙盒模式，遊玩時間完全不受限制，能盡情進行無數的社會實驗、嘗試各種建設類型。
