Word Writer 2 is a fast, native word processor for the Mac that speaks Microsoft Word's language. Open .docx files exactly as they were written, edit them on a real page, and save them back as .docx — headings, lists, tables, images and links all stay intact. Fixes the crash that could still close Word Writer a few minutes after launch, and a "could not save" error. • Word Writer could still close unexpectedly, usually a few minutes after you started it and often right after switching back to it from another app. The previous update fixed one cause of this, but not the one most people were running into. When part of the document engine runs into this kind of problem now, Word Writer carries on and your document stays open. • Pressing Command-S could fail with "Could not save" if the same document had ended up open twice, for example after closing its window and opening the file again. Opening a document that is already open now brings its window to the front, and closing a window fully lets go of its document. • Printing works properly again. Printouts no longer pick up a page number, a long file name ending in .pdf and the date from a print setting the old version had saved, and pages print at their actual size instead of being shrunk by about 5%.
