Krita is a full-featured digital painting application designed for artists. Whether you create illustrations, comics, animations, concept art or storyboards – Krita will be a powerful tool for you. Krita offers many common and innovative features to make painting more fun and more productive. There are great brush engines for sketching and painting, stabilizers for freehand inking, assistants for constructing a complex scene, a distraction-free canvas-only mode for painting without bother, clone layers, filter and transform masks for non-destructive editing. You can exchange files with other applications in many different formats. Krita comes with translations in many languages.

This is a bugfix release. It includes many fixes to the new text tool, and improves the Selection Action Panel significantly. All features of the release are listed below: Text Tool The text tool has been fully overhauled! The main attraction is of course that text can now be edited directly on canvas, with full support for the usual keyboard and mouse interactions, as well as IME support. Tools - A new Comic Panel Editing tool was added. - Free transform bounding box rotation - Liquify Transform Mode speedups. - Adjust smoothing based on stroke speed. - Pixelart smoothing mode. - Selection toolbar. - Multibrush has gained a 'Copy Translate at Intervals' mode. - Improved number inputs in the shape selection tool. - The fill tool also got some love, now sporting *Close Gaps* functionality, which allows it to close gaps in the line work when determining the area to fill. Assistants - Configuration of the assistant widgets. - Curvelinear perspective assistant. Filters and Layers - Propagate Colors Filter has been added. - All our blending modes got double checked for HDR support. - Fast Color Overlay Mask.. - Transform shortcuts now work on multiple layers. Dockers - Real Time Capture Mode for the Recorder Docker. - Dockers can now be added to the pop-up palette. - Various improvements have been made to the Grids and Guides. Brushes: - Soft texturing mode for the Pattern option. - Pattern 'Auto Invert For Eraser'. - Corner mode for curves. - Marker blend mode. Files: - Radiance RGBE (.hdr) support - New Bundle Creator. - Jpeg-XL: You can now use CICP instead of ICC color profiles to store the color space, as well as save alpha in lossless mode. - Jpeg-XL: Support was added for Multi-Layered and Multi-Pages JXL files in addition to animated JXL files. - Support for Text, Shapes and Guides for PSD. New Python Plugins: - Mutator Brush Plugin. - Python Palette Docker re-added. - Workflow buttons docker. Other - Separate eraser cursors for non-brush tools. - Pen tilt tweaks. - Soft Proofing overhaul. - CSS palette support. - More actions available in Canvas Input Settings. - Save global color history, option to save per document. - Zoom shortcuts now have the ability to zoom to mouse or zoom to canvas center separately.
