Music MCP turns your AI agent into a DJ. Ask for "upbeat 80s pop, big hits first" or "something calm for a late evening", and your AI searches Apple Music, builds a set and plays it on your Mac. WORKS WITH ANY AI AGENT Music MCP is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lives in your menu bar. Copy the setup prompt, paste it into your AI agent, and it connects itself. For apps that can't change their own settings, ready-made settings for popular AI apps are one click away. YOUR AI CAN • Search the full Apple Music catalog for songs, albums, artists and playlists • Look up an artist's top songs and similar artists to build a set • Browse the charts • Play songs, albums, playlists and stations, or add songs to the queue • Pause, skip, seek, shuffle and repeat • See what's playing and what's up next • Find radio stations, and an artist's albums and latest release • Save a set as a playlist, add music to your library, and love or dislike songs SETS THAT FIT YOUR TASTE If you allow it, your AI can also see your library, your playlists and what you've played recently, so it picks music you'll actually like. This is off until you turn it on. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT • The server only listens on your Mac, and every request needs your personal access token. • Your library and listening history stay private until you turn on sharing. • Your AI can only change your library after you turn on Allow Library Changes, and it can never delete anything. • No account, no tracking, no analytics. Music MCP collects no data. When your AI uses Music MCP, the song information it reads goes to your AI app's provider, just like anything else you share with it. NATIVE AND LIGHTWEIGHT Music MCP is a small native Mac app. It plays music with Apple's own player, shows the current song in the menu bar and in the system's Now Playing controls, and keeps playing when your AI app is closed. Requirements: an Apple Music subscription to play songs, and an AI app that supports MCP servers.

• Rearrange the queue: drag songs up or down in the panel, or right-click a song to play it next or remove it. Your AI keeps your order. • Sleep timer: ask your AI to stop the music in 30 minutes. • Your AI can edit the queue: jump to a song, remove or move songs, or clear it. • One click to Apple Music: your AI links the songs, albums and artists it mentions. Right-click a song in the panel to open it in the Music app or copy its info. • Sets that fit you better: if you share your library, your AI sees your most played songs and artists. • Drag the progress bar to jump anywhere in a song. • Can't find the icon? Open Music MCP again while it's running and it tells you where its menu bar icon is. • Much lighter on your Mac, and many fixes.
