Sound Terrain turns a field of colored cells into a small instrument. Tap to switch notes on and off, drag to draw a pattern, or hold to capture up to eight seconds of sound and release it across the terrain. Explore dust, wind, clicks, drones, bells and plucks. Tilt your iPhone to send particles through the field, or enable camera brightness control to change speed and pitch by covering and uncovering the lens. Choose a palette or let colors follow the time of day. English and Chinese interface options are included. Sound synthesis and recording work offline. No account, advertising or subscription. Microphone, camera and motion controls are optional. Recordings are temporary: reset or closing the app process clears them. Playback pauses in the background. Audio export and background playback are not included.
