Description

What you prep in rekordbox is what plays on the deck. rekordbox does three things in software that never survive the trip to a CDJ. Bake'n Deck bakes each one into the files themselves, on your Mac, with no account and no network, and then writes the USB stick for the players itself. HEADROOM: gain that survives the USB export Auto Gain is a performance-mode setting; a player reading your USB stick never sees it. Bake'n Deck measures loudness (LUFS) and true peak for every track, then writes a gain into the file that brings your library to a uniform -0.5 dBTP ceiling by default (AES TD1008): quiet tracks come up, loud ones come down. No limiter, ever. MP3 and AAC are adjusted losslessly where possible, never re-encoded just to get quieter. Files are replaced in place, so hot cues, memory cues and beatgrids stay linked. • Review table: LUFS, true peak, gain and method per track, with include and exclude • A whole folder, or one playlist from your collection XML • Backs up every run to a timestamped folder unless you turn it off, with one-click restore • Analysis is cached per file; re-analysing a large library takes seconds SORT: the Key and BPM order rekordbox cannot do rekordbox sorts by key or by BPM, never by both at once. Bake'n Deck rewrites the track order inside your exported collection XML so every playlist runs from key 1A to 12B, with ascending BPM inside each key. Import it back and the player follows that exact order. • See the resulting order before anything is written • Sort every playlist, or just one • Watches the XML and offers a one-click re-sort after rekordbox exports again CDJ SAFE: the emergency backup stick Older players are only dependable with MP3. Bake'n Deck transcodes a whole playlist to 320 kbps CBR MP3 and carries the cues and beatgrid across, so an unfamiliar booth still plays the set you prepared. The converted playlist is added to your collection XML with "-CDJ-safe" appended. • Pre-flight lists missing files and tracks whose cues would not import; missing files are skipped • Per-track report of what was byte-copied and what was re-encoded USB EXPORT: the stick, without rekordbox Tick playlists in your collection XML and write them to a USB stick for CDJ and XDJ players, with rekordbox's own waveforms, beat grid and phrases for every analysed track. Sticks written by the same export code in the free baken command line play on the CDJ-3000 and the CDJ-2000NXS2. • Pre-flight: the stick's format, skipped tracks and why, and how much will be written • Optional: CDJ Safe MP3 on the way, analysis generated for tracks rekordbox never analysed, your My Settings • A re-run writes only what changed • Writes the Device Library. Players that need OneLibrary (CDJ-3000X, XDJ-AZ, OPUS-QUAD, OMNIS-DUO) are not supported MAC TUNE-UP: a faster rekordbox on this Mac Spotlight, Gatekeeper quarantine and iCloud sync slow rekordbox down on a fresh Mac. Mac Tune-up runs the five checks DJs keep rediscovering, fixes what it may, and opens the right System Settings pane for the rest. • Spots tracks in Downloads or iCloud-synced folders • Marks external drives as excluded from Spotlight • Prepares the Terminal command that clears quarantine flags BUILT FOR THE BOOTH • One-time purchase. No subscription, no account, no ads. • No network access at all. Nothing about your library leaves your Mac. • Sandboxed: it touches only the folders you grant. • Step-by-step rekordbox guides using the real menu names. • The engine is baken-core, MIT-licensed open source; the command line edition is free. WHAT YOU NEED macOS 14 or later. Sort, CDJ Safe, USB Export and Headroom's playlist mode read your collection exported from rekordbox via File, Export Collection in xml format. Audio formats: FLAC, AIFF, WAV, ALAC, MP3 and AAC/M4A. rekordbox, CDJ and Pioneer DJ are trademarks of AlphaTheta Corporation. What’s New

Version 1.2.0 · 10/1/2026

• USB Export: a new page writes playlists from your collection XML straight to a USB stick for CDJ and XDJ players, with rekordbox's own waveforms, beat grid and phrases for every track rekordbox has analysed. Sticks written by the same export code in the free baken command line play on the CDJ-3000 and the CDJ-2000NXS2. It writes the Device Library: players that need OneLibrary (CDJ-3000X, XDJ-AZ, OPUS-QUAD, OMNIS-DUO) are not supported. • USB Export options: CDJ Safe converts every track to 320 kbps MP3 on the way, Generate missing analysis covers tracks rekordbox never analysed, and Copy My Settings brings your player settings along. A re-run writes only what changed. • A stick rekordbox already exported to has its library replaced after you confirm, and rekordbox's OneLibrary files on it are removed, so rekordbox no longer reports a library inconsistency on that stick. • Sort reads Classic key names (Am, F#m) as well as Alphanumeric ones, so the key display setting in rekordbox no longer matters. • Headroom shows your remembered collection XML as soon as the app opens. • Mac Tune-up checks only your music: USB Export sticks, rekordbox's own folders and network shares are left out, so a check with a NAS attached finishes. • English counts of one read "1 playlist" instead of "1 playlists". • The Help menu and the About window link to the Mac App Store review page. If Bake'n Deck is useful to you, a rating on the Mac App Store helps more than anything else.
