Book Eating Dog

Description

Reading is the one thing your phone never made fun. Book Eating Dog fixes that. Open a book and a pixel dog trots along the line you are reading, eating each word as it goes. Important words turn into candy, so steer the dog into them. Distracting ones turn into bombs, so tap to jump. Finish a page and the whole thing has been devoured. WHY IT WORKS - The dog sets the pace, so you stop re-reading the same sentence. - Your eyes track a moving target instead of drifting off the page. - Key terms are highlighted automatically, so the words that matter get your attention first. READ WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE - Import PDF, EPUB, Word (.docx), Markdown and plain text. - Share a document or a web page from any other app straight into Book Eating Dog and start reading immediately. - Files are parsed on your device and stay on your own bookshelf. IT READS OUT LOUD Every line is spoken as the dog walks it, at a speed solved to match the walk, so the voice and the game never drift apart. Change the pace whenever you like and the narration follows. A FREE LIBRARY, INCLUDED Dozens of complete public-domain books ship with the app in English and Chinese. Full texts, not samples. Read them offline, right now, without an account. BUILT FOR FOCUS - No ads, no account, no tracking. - Works entirely offline. - Chunky pixel art and crisp retro sound. - Bilingual interface: English and Simplified Chinese. Feed the dog. Finish the book.

What's new in 1.1 • Improved visual effects: the dog's eating animation is livelier and bouncier as it reads through each line. • Much better PDF import: two- and three-column papers and magazines now read in the right order, one column at a time, with cleaner paragraphs and without repeated page headers or page numbers. • Smaller stability and polish improvements.
