Description

Walkbench records the walks you do at your desk. The Mac app connects to your KingSmith WalkingPad over Bluetooth and records by itself: step onto the belt and it starts, step off and it stops. Nothing to press, nothing to remember afterwards. Every walk keeps its pace curve, its steps and its distance. This iPhone app reads those walks from the Mac over your own network and writes them into Apple Health as indoor walking workouts, with steps, distance and — if you want it — an estimated active energy figure that says how it was calculated. Your walks stay on your devices. There is no account, no server and no analytics. Requires a Mac running the Walkbench Mac app on the same network, and a KingSmith WalkingPad treadmill.

What’s New

Version 1.0.1 · 9/8/2026

Walks that did not arrive in Apple Health • When Apple Health refuses a walk — which can happen while the phone is locked — the sync now stops and keeps the remaining walks for the next run. They used to be skipped and never tried again. • A refused walk is attempted a second time before it is held back, so a passing problem costs nothing at all. • "Write all walks to Apple Health again" now writes them. It used to skip walks whose energy figures already looked right, even when the workout itself was missing — which is the case the button exists for. Pairing • While the app is connecting to your Mac, the address and token stay put, the address being contacted is named on screen, and the attempt can be stopped instead of waited out.
