Description

Your Mac goes to sleep. The coding agent you left running stops making progress. Belay keeps your Mac awake while coding agents work. When they're done, Belay gets out of the way and your Mac can sleep normally again. No timer required. No caffeine switch to remember. Just leave your agent running. WORKS WITH Claude Code, Codex and Cline are built in. Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI, OpenCode, Aider and Pi have ready-made presets. Cline teammate agents and Claude Code subagents stay grouped with the session they belong to. For anything else, point Belay at a folder your tool writes to. Belay uses activity in that folder as the signal and remembers the folders you choose. THREE MODES • Auto: keeps your Mac awake while an agent is working. • Always On: keeps it awake until you turn it off, or for a time you choose. • Off: Belay stays out of the way. In Always On, you can set a timer from 15 minutes to 12 hours. Belay shows the countdown and lets your Mac sleep when time's up. KNOWS WHEN TO LET GO Belay can wait a little after an agent goes quiet, stop after a maximum awake time, and stop on low battery. It never changes your macOS sleep settings. If Belay lets go on purpose, the menu bar tells you why. If a timer or awake limit ends the hold, you can start it again with one click. It also understands long retries. If an agent is waiting on an overloaded model, a few quiet minutes no longer look like finished work. While Belay is keeping your Mac awake, it also asks macOS to keep the network active so SSH sessions and streaming replies can keep going. THE DISPLAY CAN REST TOO Keeping the Mac awake does not have to mean lighting the room all night. If you choose to keep the display awake, Belay can dim it during the hours you set when you step away, then restore the brightness when you return. Off by default. When a timer is running, Belay can also show the time left on the dimmed screen. NOTIFICATIONS, IF YOU WANT THEM Belay can let you know when an agent needs you, a long run finishes, an agent goes quiet, or it stops keeping your Mac awake for safety. Each notification can be turned off. STAYS ON YOUR MAC Belay uses local activity to determine whether an agent is working. It doesn't upload your prompts or code. There is no account, no analytics and no telemetry. Your statistics stay on your Mac unless you choose to share them. Optional diagnostic reports can also be kept locally on your Mac. Nothing is sent automatically, and you decide what to share when reporting a problem. STATISTICS THAT MEAN SOMETHING See how long Belay kept your Mac awake while you were away, plus runs watched, runs saved and your longest run. Time at the keyboard doesn't count, because your Mac wasn't going to sleep anyway. Move across the chart to inspect each day. You can even hear your week: busier days play higher notes. LANGUAGES English, Russian, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Simplified Chinese.

What’s New

Version 2.1.0 · 10/2/2026

Two new optional modules in Settings › Modules. Both stay off until you install them. Nudge plays a sound when an agent finishes, needs you, or goes quiet. Reminds you if it's still waiting. Click a notification to bring its app to the front. Orphan Watch shows processes left running after a session ends and high CPU use while an agent is idle. Never reads command lines or file contents.
