Description
You put the container in the fridge. Four days later you find it, sniff it, and throw it out because you can't remember when you cooked it. ZapOrScrap gives every leftover a countdown. Zap it while it's good. Scrap it when it's not. Zap means eat it. Scrap means toss it. The color tells you which day you're on. Open the app and it's already a camera. Snap a photo of the container, tap 1 Day, 2 Days, 4 Days, or 1 Week. That's it. No names to type, no barcodes, no categories, no accounts. YOUR FRIDGE AT A GLANCE The dashboard is a grid of your photos with thick color borders. Green means it's fine. Yellow means eat it today. Red means it's gone. A bold countdown sits on every tile, and each item remembers the day you snapped it. TWO TAPS TO STAY HONEST Tap a tile and choose "Zapped it" or "Give it one more day". Swipe to scrap. A WIDGET THAT DOES THE REMEMBERING The home screen widget shows your soonest-expiring leftovers with their status colors. You see what needs eating without opening anything. NUDGES AT MEALTIMES, THEN SILENCE A heads-up around lunch or dinner when an item is on its last day, one more when time is up. Alerts only ever arrive near mealtimes, never at night. Expired items clean themselves up 48 hours later, photo and all, so the app never hoards storage. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION, NOT BY PROMISE ZapOrScrap contains no networking code at all. No account, no cloud, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. Your photos stay on your phone, full stop. That is why the App Privacy label simply says Data Not Collected. ZapOrScrap is a reminder tool, not a food safety authority. The dates are the ones you choose. When in doubt, trust your eyes and nose. Built for one job: never again wonder how old that container is.
