FrankWeather brings radar, forecasts and National Weather Service alerts into one free weather app. No account is required for the weather tools. YOUR WEATHER, EASY TO FIND Open Today for current conditions, Map for radar, Alerts for active weather notices, Forecast for upcoming conditions, and Places for your saved locations. Search settings and choose whether the app starts on Today or Map. A CLEARER RADAR MAP Animate radar, keep your selected location visible above rain overlays, and explore advanced weather layers in Storm Desk. OFFICIAL ALERTS AND CLEAR SOURCES Read National Weather Service watches, warnings and advisories for your places. Source names and observation times help you understand how current the information is. Forecasts and modeled estimates are identified separately from observations. MAKE IT YOURS Use your current location with permission, save other places, choose alert sounds, and keep your preferences through updates. Air-quality and nearby river-gauge information add context where available. Background cloud notifications while the app is closed are not enabled in this release. FrankWeather is donation-supported software. It is not an official emergency-alert source. For life-threatening weather, rely on Wireless Emergency Alerts, NOAA Weather Radio and local officials.

Version 0.39 focuses on warnings you can trust and honest information when data is missing. • Warnings you can trust: cancelled warnings and National Weather Service test messages no longer appear or sound the alarm, and upgraded warnings stay on the map instead of disappearing. • No repeat alarms: routine updates to a warning you've already been told about stay quiet. You're alerted again only when it gets worse, is confirmed as an observed tornado, or newly covers one of your places. • Emergencies always get through: a Tornado or Flash Flood Emergency reaches you through quiet hours and mutes. • Honest when data is missing: if the weather service can't be reached, Today says it can't confirm alerts instead of showing "All clear", and an unknown rain chance is never shown as 0%. • Better trip weather: fog, freezing rain and snow are reported separately, with checkpoint times based on real travel time. • Accurate timing: 15-minute rain timing is corrected, warnings that start later show "Begins …", and times use each saved place's own time zone. • Easier to use: Settings opens where you are, Storm Mode's radar button opens the map on the warning, and saved places show Warning and Watch labels. • Lighter and more private: feeds pause in the background to save battery and data, and locations sent to weather services are rounded to about 100 meters. • Accessibility: risk changes are announced on every screen, and reduced-motion settings stop looping animations. Background notifications while the app is closed are still in testing and are not enabled in this release. Keep official emergency alerts enabled.
