PrivyTranslate: AI Translator

Description

PrivyTranslate is a privacy-first translation app for iPhone and iPad. Translate typed text directly in the app, review recent translations in local history, and adjust your default target language, inference engine, model settings, timeout, and provider configuration from Settings. PrivyTranslate is built for people who want useful translation without giving up control of their data or workflow. It supports a bundled local GGUF model for on-device translation, plus optional configurable remote endpoints when you choose to use them. Key features: Direct text translation on iPhone and iPad Share Extension for text and links from other apps Built-in local model support Optional custom provider endpoints Default target language setting Local translation history Secure API key storage in Keychain Adjustable timeout and local model limits No account required Translation history is stored locally on your device. When you use built-in local mode, translation runs on device. Remote provider modes are optional and use only the settings you configure.

Version 0.7.0 translates PrivyTranslate itself. The entire interface is now available in ten languages, and the translation editors adapt to how you hold your device. Added ten interface languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Italian. Added an Interface language setting at the top of Settings. Choosing a language switches the whole app immediately — no restart, no relaunch. The default, System, follows your iOS language settings. Every language in the picker is listed under its own name, so you can always find your way back to the one you read. Translated every surface: the Translate, History, Glossary, and Settings tabs, the model download and management screens, the purchase screen, and both the Share and Translation extensions. The source text and its translation now sit side by side in landscape and stack in portrait, on the Translate tab and in the Share extension alike.
