LogCatcher — Android Logcat Viewer for Mac LogCatcher brings Android's logcat stream to your Mac in a clean, fast, native-feeling app. Built for developers, QA engineers, and anyone who needs to watch what an Android device is doing in real time — without juggling Terminal windows or learning a complicated grep pipeline. REAL-TIME STREAMING Connect any Android device with USB debugging enabled and LogCatcher streams its logcat output the moment it arrives. Smart auto-scroll keeps you at the newest entry while you watch; scroll up to investigate something and the stream quietly pauses so your view doesn't jump. Scroll back to the bottom and streaming resumes. THREE TRANSPORT MODES Pick the connection that fits your workflow: • Subprocess — runs the standard adb binary, sharing your existing device pairing. • TCP — talks directly to the local adb server with no subprocess overhead. • USB direct — speaks the ADB wire protocol over USB bulk endpoints, no adb server required. POWERFUL, READABLE FILTERS Save filter groups with rich field-aware conditions: filter by tag, package, log level, PID, TID, or message text. Combine conditions with AND / OR and group them with parentheses for precise control. Beyond the saved filters, an advanced top-bar filter accepts compact syntax: app:com.example tag:Auth level:WE tag:Network || tag:Crash Save filter groups, rename them, duplicate them (Copy creates an instant clone named "Original Copied"), and import conditions from one filter into another. A hidden global "exclusion" filter lets you mute noisy entries everywhere with a single expression. LEVEL TOGGLES Five quick toggles on the toolbar — V D I W E — turn entire log levels on or off with a click. Default is all on; tap "D" to drop debug noise instantly. FAST IN-VIEW SEARCH Cmd+F opens a search bar that highlights matches and reports "3 of 17" as you step through with prev/next. Works alongside any active filter. TAIL vs. ALL BUFFER Tail mode shows just the recent tail of the device buffer (configurable line count) — perfect for catching what's happening right now. Switch to All to pull the entire historical buffer for forensic work. DETAIL VIEW WITH NOTES Double-click any log row to open a detail panel with every field laid out — app, tag, level, PID, TID, timestamp, message. Add an editable Note for context that travels with that log entry while LogCatcher is open. Copy the message or the full record to the clipboard with one click. POLISHED APPEARANCE Pick a custom monospaced font, set the message-column width, and assign per-level text and background colors. Make Warnings bold, Errors red on a soft yellow background — your style, persisted across launches. OFFLINE REPLAY Drag in a saved logcat file (Import Logs) to replay past sessions through the same filtering and search pipeline. Useful for sharing reproducible bug captures with teammates or reviewing yesterday's logs. NATIVE, LIGHTWEIGHT, PRIVATE A pure Cocoa application — Universal Binary for Apple Silicon and Intel.
