NutBar

Description

NutBar brings UPS monitoring to your Mac menu bar with a fast, native interface for Network UPS Tools (NUT). Connect to your NUT server to view battery level, remaining runtime, load, voltage, and power status at a glance, without leaving the menu bar. NutBar helps you stay informed during outages with alerts for power loss, restored power, low battery, critical battery, and connection changes. When battery levels become critical, NutBar can go beyond alerts by automatically putting your Mac to sleep, adding another layer of protection during extended outages. Features: • Live UPS monitoring from your NUT server. • Detailed menu bar view with toggleable sections for Status, Device, Voltage, Environment, Thresholds, Driver, and UPS Configuration. • Clean formatting for supported UPS data, including battery charge, runtime, load, voltage, self-test results, and device details. • Alerts for outages, restored power, low battery, critical battery, and connection changes. • Optional automatic sleep action on critical battery. • Configurable polling interval, notifications, and menu bar display options. • Optional username and password support for secured NUT servers, with password stored in the macOS Keychain. • Launch at login support and built-in status history. • Works with NUT servers on Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS, Linux, and more. NutBar is designed for Mac users who want clear, always-available UPS visibility without keeping a full dashboard open.

This update focuses on stability and reliability: • Fixed a crash that could occur when an invalid server port was entered • The port field now validates input, so out-of-range values are corrected automatically • Improved connection handling — NutBar now responds immediately when the server closes a connection, instead of waiting for a timeout • More reliable reconnection behaviour after network interruptions • UPS names and values containing special characters now display correctly • Improved diagnostic logging for connection and Keychain issues
