Description
Aether is a native macOS client for designing, testing, and debugging HTTP APIs. Built entirely in Swift and SwiftUI, it launches instantly and keeps your work in plain files you own. BUILD AND SEND REQUESTS • Full control over method, URL, query parameters, headers, and body • JSON, form-encoded, and multipart bodies with file attachments • Dedicated GraphQL editor with variables and a schema browser • Bearer, Basic, API key, and full OAuth 2.0 with PKCE — credentials stored in the Keychain • Responses with pretty-printed, raw, and web preview modes, plus headers, status, timing, and size ORGANIZE WITH WORKSPACES • A workspace is just a folder of JSON files — diff it, commit it, share it • Collections and folders with Markdown documentation • Unlimited environments; switch dev, staging, and production in one click • {{variables}} anywhere, scoped globally or per collection TEST WITH CHAINS Turn a sequence of requests into a re-runnable test suite. Assert on status codes, headers, response time, and JSONPath values. Capture a value from one response and feed it into the next. Set retries and failure policies per step, then run the chain and see exactly which step broke and why. AI THAT DOES THE WORK • On-device suggestions from Apple Intelligence propose assertions and extractions from real responses — nothing leaves your Mac • An assistant panel that operates your workspace: it executes requests, reads the real responses, debugs failures, and builds chains for you • A built-in MCP server exposes Aether's tools to external agents over localhost, so an agent can leave you a regression suite that keeps running long after the conversation ends VERSION CONTROL BUILT IN Clone, commit, push, pull, and resolve conflicts over HTTPS without leaving the app. Accounts and tokens are stored in the Keychain. IMPORT AND EXPORT Bring collections in from Postman, Yaak, HAR, OpenAPI, Swagger, or a pasted cURL command. Copy any request back out as cURL, or export your console history as HAR. BUILT FOR DEVELOPERS • Request and response console with search and export • HTTP and SOCKS proxy support with authentication and a bypass list • Per-host certificate exceptions for local development servers • Light, dark, and system appearance PRIVACY No account, no sign-in. Your requests go only to the endpoints you specify. AI conversations go only to the provider whose key you supply. Every feature is included — nothing is locked behind a subscription. Note: the AI assistant requires your own API key from a supported provider. On-device suggestions require a Mac with Apple Intelligence available.
