Unleash your musical creativity with GeoShred Studio, the macOS version of GeoShred designed for desktop composition, scoring, and orchestration. GeoShred is a new kind of musical instrument: fluidly expressive, remarkably playable, and powered by physics-based models of instruments and effects. Its innovative performance surface features “almost magic” pitch rounding, making it possible to play with both expressive freedom and precise intonation. GeoShred Studio brings that expressive power to the desktop. Designed for macOS, it is ideal for scoring and composition workflows that use multiple AUv3 instances and physically modeled instruments. A key advantage of GeoShred Studio is that performances can be captured directly in your DAW as editable MIDI/MPE data, making it easy to edit, orchestrate, and re-render your music as part of a modern production workflow. Expand your sonic palette with 33 additional physically modeled instruments from around the world, available as in-app purchases. These include bowed strings, woodwinds, brass, and traditional Indian and Chinese instruments. GeoShred Studio is free to download, but it is not a trial version. GeoShred Studio is best performed expressively from an iPhone or iPad using GeoShred’s multidimensional isomorphic keyboard. If you do not own GeoShred for iPhone or iPad, you can download the free GeoShred Control MPE controller to use with GeoShred Studio. GeoShred Studio can also be performed with an MPE controller, conventional MIDI controller, or breath controller. Important: GeoShred Studio is a distinct product from the iOS/iPadOS version of GeoShred. It has its own instrument library and a separate pricing model. A preset can now be saved with one of four keyboards: the Isomorphic grid, the Piano Keyboard, the Uniform Keyboard and the Janko Keyboard. Pick the type at the top of Menu > Keyboard. - New — All playing surfaces now support Touch Velocity! Touch Velocity uses iOS/iPadOS device's Accelerometer to measure how hard you tap a note. How hard you tap a note is directly converted into MIDI velocity. - New — All the new playing surfaces support MPE. This means that the Piano Keyboard is an MPE keyboard, the Uniform Keyboard is an MPE keyboard and the Janko Keyboard is an MPE keyboard - New — Asymmetric pitch bend range is now supported for all playing surfaces. Double-tap to enable or disable each of the Chords, Strum and Keyboard zones; the remaining zones resize to fill the space, and re-enabling restores your original layout exactly. - New — The standalone GeoShred Studio window is resizable, holding a constant 4:3 aspect ratio as you drag it. Launch and resize flicker are fixed, and the keyboard no longer lays itself over the chord and strum zones after a resize. - New Connect Send can keep the sending device's audio on — a MIDI configuration option, so you can hear both instruments - New MIDI Configuration for Artiphon Chorda. - GarageBand tip: for recording the new keyboards, use the MPE Channel Mode MIDI configuration — and make sure GarageBand's Support MPE setting is turned on (recent GarageBand updates turn it off). - Improved or fixed - MPE, temperaments, sustain, Hammer On Pull Off Legato (aka HOPO), setlist management, visual feedback, startup flow, MOTD context in plugin hosts, handling of hardware interrupts for touches, LinnStrument support, Control Surface picker menu, GeoSWAM Pan, GeoSWAM Course Tune, key edge handling for the AUv3 plugin, strum response to panic, and Channel Pressure handling for conventional MIDI controllers that convert Poly Afertouch to Channel Pressure.
