VU Meter Studio

Beschreibung

VU Meter Studio is broadcast-grade audio metering for your Mac — built for podcasters, streamers, music producers and video editors who need to hit a platform's loudness spec and know they have. It pairs a classic real-time VU and peak display with a full ITU-R BS.1770 / EBU R128 loudness meter, so you can see both how the signal is behaving right now and how the whole programme measures. WHAT IT CAN METER • Your Mac's own audio output, with no routing or virtual cable (macOS 14.2 or later) • Any input device — interface, USB mic, or virtual device • An internet radio stream: paste an Icecast, Shoutcast or playlist URL (.m3u, .pls, .asx, .xspf) and it meters the stream directly, with the live track title from the stream metadata LOUDNESS — EBU R128 / ITU-R BS.1770 • Momentary, Short-term and Integrated loudness (LUFS) • True Peak (dBTP) with 4× oversampling • Loudness Range (LRA) • One-tap target presets: EBU R128 (−23, file and live), DPP UK (−23), BBC R128 (−23), ATSC A/85 (−24), Spotify (−14), Apple Music (−16), YouTube (−14) • Tolerance range and pass/fail check — see at a glance whether Integrated loudness is on spec, too loud, or too quiet HISTORY — LOUDNESS OVER TIME • Rolling graph of Momentary, Short-term and Integrated loudness • Time ranges from 30 seconds to 30 minutes • Traces draw red above your target, with the target line and tolerance band on the graph • Show or hide each trace independently RADAR — THE WHOLE SESSION AT A GLANCE • Circular broadcast-style loudness radar: Short-term loudness sweeps around your target, further out means louder • Momentary loudness on the outer ring, live • Sweep speed from 1 minute to 24 hours; ring spacing from 3 to 12 dB • PEAK and LOUD indicators for true-peak overs and loudness excursions ALARM — FOR WHEN YOU AREN'T WATCHING • Set a Short-term LUFS threshold and how long it may be exceeded before it counts • Raise an on-screen alert, call an HTTP webhook, or run a local command • Built for unattended monitoring — a playout machine or a long stream can page you or drive your own automation CLASSIC METERING • LED-segment VU and peak meters with peak hold • Color themes — Standard, Amber, and Pioneer-style blue VFD, each with black or dark backgrounds • dB scale, adjustable level offset, configurable peak decay • One-click auto-calibration against a built-in 1 kHz reference tone — no test files, no math A SECOND SCREEN, FREE • VU Meter Studio Remote mirrors your meters on an iPhone or iPad device over Wi-Fi • Free, with no ads and no in-app purchases • Turn a spare phone or tablet into a dedicated meter bridge across the room BUILT FOR macOS • Four panes (Levels, Loudness, History, Radar) you can show, hide or maximise, so the window shows only what you need • Compact and always-on-top, so it sits beside your DAW, OBS or editor rather than covering it Whether you're checking a mix against streaming targets, keeping a live stream inside spec, or just want a beautiful and accurate meter on your desktop, VU Meter Studio gives you precise, standards-compliant readings at a glance.

- Fixed: meters stayed at zero with audio interfaces and capture devices (USB interfaces, Blackmagic ATEM, etc.). The app now asks for Microphone access on first launch, which macOS requires for any audio input device. If you were affected, click Allow when prompted.
