Beschreibung

Marmot is a minimalist markdown editor for writing your next novel. **FEATURES*** - Write in pure Markdown. Every chapter is a plain .md file on your Mac. Open it in any editor, sync it with any tool, back it up however you like. - Toggle between a focused editor and a typeset reader pane that shows your work as it looks on the page. Choose between three viewing styles. - Export submission-ready manuscripts as PDF or DOCX, in industry-standard formats ready for agents and publishers. Compile a single chapter or the whole novel in one click, with three customizable export styles to choose from. - Focus mode (optional) dims everything but the current sentence. Typewriter scroll keeps your cursor centered on the page as you write. - Set a manuscript word count target and a daily writing target. Right click in the sidebar to see section word count, page count, and estimated reading time. - Marmot comes with fifteen carefully crafted light and dark themes, plus a built-in theme editor for customization. - Smart typography turns straight quotes into curly quotes, double hyphens into em dashes, and three periods into ellipses as you type. - Built to stay fast and responsive on novels of 300,000+ words. **YOU CONTROL YOUR FILES*** No proprietary formats. No AI. No subscriptions. No accounts or telemetry. No internet required. Your novel lives on your Mac as plain files you'll own forever. **QUESTIONS** Have questions, suggestions, or found a bug?
