kb is a one-time purchase for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, no ads, and no account. Every lesson, layout, language, and test is included from the first launch, and nothing is sold separately later. Your results stay on your device and in your own iCloud account; kb has no servers of its own. kb is a typing trainer built around one idea: you pick the speed you want to type at, and it does not move you on until you can hit it. Set a target — 35 WPM by default, configurable per lesson type — and kb scores every keystroke against it. A key turns green once you type it at or above your goal, and the next letter unlocks only when the current set is green. Practice always returns to the key holding you back. The keys on screen are a readout of your progress toward the speed you set: red below the target, green at or above it. You can see which keys are slow, which are improving, and when the whole board is done. SEVEN WAYS TO PRACTICE • Guided — keys unlock one at a time as each reaches your target speed, with finger-zone guidance • Drills — real words built from the letter pairs you type slowest • Word list — real words from frequency-ranked dictionaries, with optional capitals and punctuation • Books — six bundled classics, with your reading position saved per book • Code — programming syntax from Python and JavaScript to Rust and Go • Numbers — dedicated numeric practice • Custom — any text you paste, open in kb, or import as a .txt or .md file TESTS Timed tests over 15, 30, or 60 seconds — or runs of 10, 25, or 50 words, or a whole passage — with live WPM and accuracy, on common words, a passage from the bundled classics, your own text, or pronounceable practice words generated on your device in 40 languages. Race a translucent ghost of your own best run; your bests and recent runs are kept in Profile. Turn on Game Center and your Strict 15, 30, and 60-second and 25-word Common Words tests post an accuracy-weighted speed to a leaderboard for each. FOR EVERY KEYBOARD YOU OWN If you practice on more than one keyboard or layout — a split, ortholinear, or Matrix board, or a move to Colemak, Dvorak, AZERTY, or BÉPO — each keyboard keeps its own progress map, keyed by layout and geometry. Pick the board you are on from the keyboard picker in the Practice toolbar and its statistics stay separate, so a new build starts clean and you can see when you are back to your old speed. Forty keyboard layouts; ANSI, ISO, and Matrix geometries. PROGRESS The profile shows per-key speed, accuracy, a practice calendar, daily goals, twelve milestones, and full history, filterable by language, layout, geometry, and keyboard. Export your history as CSV or JSON. ON YOUR TERMS • Four error modes, switchable mid-lesson • Continuous mode for uninterrupted practice • Typing sounds in five themes • Large & clear: bigger text and unmistakable letters with one switch • With the on-screen keyboard, tests and Common Words practice can be scored with autocorrect and predictions on • The interface is in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, and Danish

The typing test is the headline. Take a test in words — 10, 25 or 50 — as well as in seconds, type a real passage from the bundled classics or your own pasted text, and race a translucent ghost of your own best run. Every finished test is saved now: a personal best gets its own badge, and a new Tests section in Profile keeps your bests and your recent runs. Also in this update: • Game Center leaderboards, off until you turn them on in Settings: Strict Common Words tests of 15, 30 or 60 seconds or 25 words post your accuracy-weighted speed, one board per test. • Typing sounds that actually make a sound — a key click and an error thud, in five themes. The Sound controls are on iPhone for the first time. • Drills, a new lesson type: real words built from the letter pairs you type slowest. You can also start a drill on one key from Profile. • Milestones — twelve badges for keys unlocked, speed, streaks and books, collected in Profile. • kb now speaks French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish and Danish, following your system language. • One Errors setting with four named modes replaces the two old toggles, and it changes mid-lesson from the Practice strip. Where mistakes are shown, they are struck through in red so you can see what to delete. • Practice picks up on the exact word you stopped at, and the app reopens on the screen you were typing on. • Tests and Common Words practice can be scored the way you really type on a touch screen: autocorrect and predictions on, whole words counted as you commit them. • Get text in from anywhere — a .txt or .md file, Paste, a drag onto the window, or Open in kb — and you land on Practice typing it. • Export your history as CSV as well as JSON, share a result card from any finished test, and tap ⓘ beside a headline number on any report to see how it is worked out. • Large & clear: one switch in Typing settings for bigger text and unmistakable letters. The keyboard picker no longer has an Automatic detection section. Pick the keyboard you are on there once and your statistics stay with it.
