Researchers at Monash University have developed the low FODMAP diet and a corresponding app to assist in the management of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The Monash University FODMAP diet works by swapping foods high in fermentable carbohydrates (FODMAPs), with low FODMAP alternatives. Around 75% of people with IBS experience symptom relief on a low FODMAP diet. The app comes directly from the research team at Monash and includes the following: - General information about the FODMAP diet and IBS. - Easy to understand tutorials to guide you through the app and the 3-Step FODMAP diet. - A Food Guide detailing the FODMAP content for hundreds of foods using a simple 'traffic light system'. - A list of branded products that have been certified by Monash as low FODMAP. - A collection of over 70 nutritious, low FODMAP recipes. - Functions that allow you to create your own shopping list and add notes to individual foods - A Diary that enables you to record food eaten, IBS symptoms, bowel habits and stress levels. The Diary will also guide you through step 2 of the diet - FODMAP reintroduction. - The ability to adjust units of measurement (metric or imperial) and activate colour blindness assistance.

Pedi-STAT is a rapid reference for RNs, paramedics, physicians and other healthcare professionals caring for pediatric patients in the emergency or critical care environment. ************************************ Reviews ************************************ Among "The Best Drug Reference Apps for Emergency Physicians" - Emergency Physicians Monthly 5 STARS - "Simple interface provides rapid access to critical data needed when managing a critically ill pediatric patient" 5 Stars - "Very useful for treating kids in high pressure situations with precision." ***************************** Pedi-STAT features include: - Rapid results for airway interventions including endotracheal tube sizes, depth, intubation medication dosages, ventilator settings, and sedation - Cardiac resuscitation data including weight specific dosages for resuscitation medications, cardioversion, and defibrillation - Access to age and weight specific pediatric equipment including foley catheters, airway management, chest and NG tubes, peripheral and central line sizes, and more - Seizure medication dosages - Management of hypoglycemia including age specific dextrose concentrations - Reference of age specific normal vital signs - Procedural sedation dosages including single dose meds and infusions, as well as reversal agents - Calculated pain management medications - Medical management of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis Users can quickly access critical information accurately, without having to rely on memory or cumbersome textbooks. With just a few taps, users have access to all the necessary data to care for a pediatric patient in the emergent setting, including weight-based and age specific medication dosages and equipment sizes. Since many of the patients present with minimal known information, all the results can be calculated rapidly with only a known age, date-of-birth, weight, length, or height. Simply enter the known variable and the data is instantly calculated. Developed by an Emergency Physician, this app minimizes the risk of medical errors allowing the provider to spend more time caring for the patient, and less time looking up and calculating doses. It is a critical companion for any physician, nurse, paramedic, or medical trainee involved in the care of critically ill pediatric patients.

ASCCP Management Guidelines$14.99American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology Inc
Medical4.8(8.5K)설명
The ASCCP Risk-Based Management Consensus Guidelines provide evidence-based recommendations for managing abnormal cervical cancer screening results and cancer precursors, including post-colposcopy and post-treatment scenarios. ASCCP is pleased to offer this app to streamline navigation of the ASCCP Risk-Based Management Consensus Guidelines for abnormal cervical cancer screening tests and cancer precursors. The guidelines articles, as published in the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease, as well as the comprehensive risk estimates, can be accessed through https://www.asccp.org/guidelines. These evidence-based management guidelines, initially developed in 2019, came together through a consensus process of 19 organizations. The updated management guidelines aim to: • Allow for a more complete and precise estimation of risk • Provide more appropriate intervention for high-risk individuals (detect and treat more precancer) • Recommend less intervention for low-risk individuals (decrease testing and treatment that won’t prevent cancer and may cause reproductive harm) • Allow for the future addition of new risk modifiers and screening and management technologies See https://www.asccp.org/UserGuide for tips on using the app.

Positive affirmations have been proven to change the way your mind works and listening regularly will help you feel less anxious and more confident in the lead up to birth. You can practice daily and then reset the surge history whenever you like. THE SCIENCE We know the more relaxed you are during birth, the more oxytocin you will produce. Oxytocin helps your uterus to work efficiently, making labour faster and more comfortable. Simple, fast, yet more thorough than any other pregnancy wheel available for the iPhone, Perfect OB Wheel is better than just a replacement for your trusty paper wheel. Here's why Perfect OB Wheel is your best choice of gestational calculator: 1) Input flexibility: Start with one of: • Last menstrual period (LMP) • Conception date • Estimated date of confinement/delivery (EDC) • Ultrasound dating: Number of weeks and days gestation as of a given date ("X Weeks"). 2) Input speed: Other wheels for the iPhone make you conform to them for entering your patient's information. Why not be able to choose based on how you are holding the phone and what else you are doing at the same time? • Use the numeric entry pad (0 3 3 0 2 0 0 8) and immediately see the results, OR • Spin the date wheel at the bottom of the screen and tap Next. 3) Thorough results: All the information you would expect from a classic wheel, plus more: • Estimated Due Date • LMP Date • Conception Date • 1st Trimester End Date • 2nd Trimester End Date • Gestational Age • Conceptional Age • Expected Fetal Length based on standard fetal growth curves • Expected Fetal Weight based on standard fetal growth curves ("How much does my baby weigh, doctor?") Results are relative to 'today' by default; this can be quickly changed to reflect any date by tapping the 'today' button and selecting a new date. 4) Accurate results: Perfect OB Wheel provides exact dates and accounts for all calendar variance, including leap years. 5) Persistence: Perfect OB Wheel remembers the date and date type you last used and restores them when launched to streamline your workflow. 6) Perfect OB Tracker upgrade: Available as an in-app purchase update, the Perfect OB Tracker lets you track any number of pregnancies, with at-a-glance due date and gestational age and one-tap access to all the data Perfect OB Wheel provides. A picture and text notes can be kept on each patient. Postpartum tracking is also available. Passcode locking is available for HIPAA compliance.

ICU Trials is a quick pocket reference for both the novice and seasoned critical care clinician. This app does not replace the original manuscript of these landmark critical care trials – instead, it serves as a fast reference and learning tool for some of the most important ICU trials over a wide range of specialties. Each entry contains a short one-liner about the critical care trial and key points, which includes only the most pertinent details, such as inclusion/exclusion criteria, treatment protocols, pertinent endpoints and findings, as well as expert commentary regarding key subgroup analyses or limitations to the trial. Want to send a colleague a citation? Use the "Share Trial" button to send a PubMed link and quick summary. Using this feature, it’s incredibly easy to share pivotal critical care trials with students, residents, and other colleagues. The database features 150+ landmark trials related to: ARDS, cardiac arrest, DVT/PE, delirium, glycemic control, heart failure, hemorrhage, meningitis, nephroprotection, nutrition, pneumonia, sedation, seizure, sepsis/shock, spinal cord injury, stroke, and subarachnoid hemorrhage – with more trials and topics to be added on a regular basis! This app is intended for obstetricians, midwives, and nurses who use electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) in laboring patients. In addition to interpreting fetal heart rate (FHR) tracings, health care professionals must communicate with each other about the tracings in a way that is understood by all parties, and decide what action to take. FHR 5-tier is based on the five-color system developed by Drs. Julian Parer and Tomoaki Ikeda. (AJOG July 2007) The intent of their system is to standardize management of different fetal heart rate tracings. The system divides all fetal heart rate tracings into one of five categories: Green (no acidemia, no intervention required), Blue, Yellow, Orange or Red (evidence of actual or impending fetal asphyxia, rapid delivery recommended). Each color has assigned to it a: a) risk of acidemia, b) risk of evolution to a more serious pattern and c) recommended action. The NICHD three-tier system of classifying fetal heart rate (FHR) tracings has been criticized for having too wide a range of tracings in “Category II”. Some researchers and clinicians believe that the five-tier color-coded system more effectively classifies EFM tracings. The five-tier system is being adopted by an increasing number of hospitals in the U.S. and in Japan. FHR 5-tier makes it easier to use the five-color system. Without the FHR 5-tier app, one must refer to a table with 134 possible combinations of variability, baseline, and decelerations. One must also either memorize or refer to the definitions for mild, moderate and severe decelerations, which are complex and sometimes confusing. When using the FHR 5-tier app it is not necessary to refer to any other table or chart. Variability and baseline, and the shape, nadir, and duration of decelerations are entered with buttons on the consecutive screens. The app calculates the severity of the deceleration and the color for each tracing. All aspects of the tracing are summarized on the colored results screen, so that the user can quickly communicate with others. Management recommendations as outlined by Parer and Ikeda are given. These include whether or not the obstetrician needs to be at the bedside; what other personnel should be available; and whether the patient should be moved to the operating room. In addition, conservative management techniques are listed where appropriate. Thus, for Blue, Yellow, and Orange tracings, the final results screen reminds the user to consider actions such as maternal position change, decreasing oxytocin, or amnioinfusion. As noted by Parer and Ikeda, the guidelines for management may need to be modified for institutions other then theirs, and may even change depending on time of day. The NICHD Category (I, II, III) is also given on the results screen. This application is intended as a reference tool for use only by licensed healthcare professionals. Designed by a pediatrician, BiliCalc uses the American Academy of Pediatrics 2004 "Management of Hyperbilirubinemia in Infants Greater than 35 Weeks of Age" to calculate the threshold for starting phototherapy based on the patient's age, bilirubin level, and neurotoxicity risk. Values are now displayed on the phototherapy nomogram. In addition, it will also tell you the patient's risk zone using the Bhutani Nomogram. Allows direct age input and includes the option to calculate age from birth and lab sample times. The app has a direct link to source journal articles, nomograms, and a list of the neurotoxicity risk factors. Supports US and SI units (mg/dL and µmol/L). App Feature Summary -Calculates phototherapy threshold for newborns 35 weeks and older -Displays values on phototherapy nomogram -Suggests time frame for followup bilirubin levels based on patient risk zone -Direct links to reference journal articles ********************************** Frequently Asked Questions ********************************** 1. I think the graph is backwards. Why is low risk on top and high risk on bottom? The graph is directly from the 2004 AAP Hyperbilirubinemia Guidelines. The degree of "risk" refers to the infant's risk for developing neurotoxicity. This is different than the Bhutani Nomogram in which "risk" refers to the risk for development of severe hyperbilirubinemia. The threshold for treatment (when a data point lies above one of the lines on the graph) of the infant is different based on the predisposing factors (divided into the three risk categories). Babies who are "low neurotoxicity risk," can tolerate higher levels of bilirubin than a baby with medium or high risk. Therefore, a high risk baby will be treated at lower bilirubin levels than a low risk baby. The graph is correct in having low risk on top since a higher value is needed to pass the threshold for treatment (phototherapy). Please see the graph here for verification as well: http://bit.ly/AppPWU. Please email if you have further questions. ****************************************** Intended for use by pediatricians, neonatologists, physicians, medical students, and pediatric nurses who treat newborn infants in the hospital and as outpatients. BiliCalc should be used only as a reference aid. The information contained in the app should not be used as a substitute for the exercise of professional clinical judgement. Please contact the developer if you find any errors. Keywords: bilitool, bilitool.org, jaundice, hyperbiliubinemia

It’s well understood that adding a visual component to the otherwise abstract concept can often be very helpful for individuals with ASD. OK so how does the app work? Well….if a child is talking to quietly a blue background with a cartoon character struggling to hear is displayed. If a child is talking too loudly the background changes to red and the character puts it’s fingers in its ears. If the volume level is acceptable a green background with a smiling happy character is displayed. • The on screen “volume thermometer” dynamically displays the volume level as it changes. • There’s a "Sensitivity" slider so the adult can adjust the volume sensitivity to suit both the user and the environment. • There’s also a "Dampening" slider. This helps avoid the meter bouncing around in between words by introducing a slight delay before any movement is shown on the “volume" thermometer. • To give the user total control over the app the Upper and Lower limits of the "Green" (acceptable volume area) can now be adjusted by the user. • For convenience the app works in both portrait and landscape modes on all the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. • the iPhone version of the app has a switch to enable the iPhone to vibrate should the upper threshold level be exceeded for longer than 4 seconds. We want to make this app the very best it can be and to this end we have included a feedback form inside the app for users to submit any issues or suggestions as to how it can be improved. Why not download the app and give it a try?...... you might find it a very useful tool.

Pedi STAT EMS was developed specifically for prehospital providers. We’ve taken all the content from our original Pedi STAT application and carefully selected components that are unique to providers in EMS. We’ve solicited feedback from leaders in out of hospital care, including paramedics, EMTs, air medical flight crews, and medical directors. We’ve condensed the content to be applicable to those providing care outside the hospital, including first responders, firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics, and Critical Care Transport providers. Medication dosing and pediatric equipment sizes are easily and rapidly accessed, and accurately calculated based on provider input of either weight, length, age, or Broselow / Pediatape weight estimates. We are attempting to eliminate medical errors by calculating not only the correct pediatric medication dose, but also the volume to be administered for patient specific conditions. We have also included algorithms and medical calculators to assist providers in multiple areas, including managing pediatric cardiac arrest, burn size estimation and fluid resuscitation, and Glasgow Coma Scale. Caring for pediatric patients is associated with a large number of challenges, the most important being selecting the correct equipment and medications, and then dosing the medications correctly. Our goal is to eliminate these challenges as much as possible, and allow the provider to concentrate on what is most important, the patient. Suggestions for improvements or additions are always welcome: Pedi-STAT.com

ECG and ACLS Tutor will help you pass the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course. With regular use of this app you will maintain your cardiac resuscitation skills so that you will always be ready to serve as an effective leader of the 'code blue' team. ECG and ACLS Tutor includes four modules to improve your ability to identify the ECG rhythm and treat the patient. The first module, ECG Rhythm Primer, reviews the basics of identifying the cardiac rhythm in ECG lead II. It describes the waves, intervals, and a four step method to identify the rhythm. The second module, Rhythm Tutor, teaches and reinforces the organized four question approach to identification of electrocardiogram rhythms. When you think you have mastered identification of the rhythms in Rhythm Tutor, you should use the third module, Rhythm Challenge, to test yourself. The ECG modules present 80 different electrocardiogram wave forms as they sweep across the screen just like on a real ECG monitor. Recognition of EKG rhythms as the wave forms sweep across a monitor screen is a different skill than diagnosing cardiac rhythms on a static tracing. This app will improve your clinical skills more than reviewing with a book because you will learn to diagnose the EKG rhythms as they dynamically move across the screen. After you are comfortable identifying the cardiac rhythm, you can use ACLS module to practice the resuscitation of patients based on the latest ACLS guidelines. The ACLS module enables you to rehearse megacode management in a realistic screen-based simulator. The current version follows the updated 2024 AHA treatment guidelines. You must evaluate the patient and electrocardiogram rhythm, decide on the appropriate management, and serve as the team leader, guiding two assistants through the resuscitation including administration of electrical defibrillation and medications. There are 12 cardiac arrest case scenarios included. The first three cover ventricular fibrillation, the next two are for pulseless ventricular tachycardia, another covers asystole, and the remainder of the cases cover tachycardia algorithms. This app is for training purposes only. Do not assume a real patient will behave exactly the same as any of the simulated patients, however, with regular practice you will always be ready to run a full cardiac resuscitation. The icon for the app was made with Freepik from www.flaticon.com.

Magnet Master is a perioperative cardiac device management planner which assists the user in planning for surgery using electrocautery in patients with cardiac devices. It is based on the consensus guideline document: "The Heart Rhythm Society (HRS)/American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Expert Consensus Statement on the Perioperative Management of Patients with Implantable Defibrillators, Pacemakers and Arrhythmia Monitors: Facilities and Patient Management", (Crossley GH et al, Heart Rhythm, Vol 8, No 7, July 2011, pages 1114-1136.) The user completes a patient profile consisting of information regarding surgical location and pacemaker dependence and a plan is generated which offers guidance regarding the need for use of a device magnet or device reprogramming. Additional information consists of device response to magnet application and contact information of device manufactures and their representatives. Anesthesiologists, surgeons and associated allied health practitioners can easily implement various measures to mitigate the effects of electrocautery on device function. The report may be shared via email, text message or printed using AirPrint-enabled printers .

RxOrange provides full, Internet free, access to the FDA Orange Book with a thoughtful user interface and a unique set of features that you will find nowhere else, not even on the FDA web site. Questions that RxOrange can quickly answer. When does that drug go generic? One question that frequently gets asked by both patients and health care practitioners is ‘When will a generic come out for this drug’? RxOrange can predict an expiration date based on patent and exclusivity information from the Orange Book.* It also shows brand name products that have recently gone generic, so you can stay up to date as new generics become available. *Please note that unexpired patents, patent extension, and litigation can delay or expedite the actual date of generic competition. RxOrange provides a reasonable estimate based on available data, or an actual date if it is known. What generic products are therapeutically equivalent to the brand name drug? RxOrange can help you find suitable generic substitutes fast. Drug products are organized into brand and generic sections and alphabetized by manufacturer. The therapeutic equivalence (TE) code for each drug product is highlighted with a color (green, yellow, or red) to make interpreting the codes easy.** What products have recently been approved by the FDA? Dozens of new drug products are released each month by manufacturers. RxOrange will help you keep up to date on both brand and generic products as they become available. Check out the screenshots below! ** The therapeutic equivalence code, or TE code, provided by the FDA indicates whether a generic product can be substituted for its brand name counterpart. Products highlighted green are equivalent substitutes, yellow highlighting indicates no information is available and caution should be taken, and red highlighting indicates the product is NOT equivalent to the brand name product. A detailed explanation of each code is available in the detail view for each drug. Who made RxOrange? RxOrange has been written and designed by a pharmacist with the fast paced work environment of medical professionals in mind. Information is presented in a format that is intuitive, fast, and easy to use. This app will be useful for pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and any other health care professional that needs access to information about therapeutic substitution, product availability, and patent expiration. How often will this app be updated? RxOrange will be updated monthly coinciding with the monthly release of Orange Book data from the FDA. Each release version will trail with the year and month the database was compiled. (Example. The database in version 3.95.2101 will be compiled with the most recent data from January of 2021) Additional updates will include bug fixes and new features as they become available. View demo videos on the app's website at http://goo.gl/ZRC8gt This app was created for physicians, residents, medical students, and other students in the healthcare fields to keep track of and document procedures performed. The app is highly customizable and useful in all medical specialties. Entries are securely kept in your iOS device and are not sent to any outside server, website or database. Reports are created and saved as a password protected PDF file (encrypted using AES-128) and a CSV (comma-separated values) file that is compressed to a ZIP file (which allows password protection and is encrypted using AES-256) to comply with HIPAA security requirements. The reports can then be emailed, accessed via iTunes and the Files app, sent using AirDrop, or copied to your iCloud Drive or DropBox. CSV files can be imported into a spreadsheet program. One should not rely on this app alone to keep track of their procedures and is advised to frequently backup the files created. Information on backing up and restoring your data is included in the app's Help/Instructions view. FEATURES • Keep a log of the procedures you have performed, assisted in, were 2nd assist in, observed, supervised, and/or interpreted for documentation purposes. • Document the patient's name, ID number, age, date performed, location, supervisor, diagnosis, complications and additional notes with the procedures performed. Also, one can take a photo with your device's camera or import a photo from your photos library from within the app, and include the photo in a record. • Option to select one or multiple diagnoses from a list of either custom diagnoses or ICD-10 diagnoses for any given procedure. • Select multiple procedures performed on a single patient. • Sort by date (ascending or descending), patient name, procedure name, medical specialty, and location/facility. • Capture supervisor's signature to attest that you performed or assisted in the procedure(s) and include the signature images in your reports. Either obtain the supervisor's signature attestation at the time you create the log entry, or save the entry without the signature and obtain the signature attestation at a later time. • Detailed help/instructions section. CUSTOMIZABLE • List of procedures, favorite diagnoses, and complications are easily customizable (you can add procedures/diagnoses/complications to or delete them from the lists). (ICD-10 diagnoses cannot be edited or deleted.) • Locations and Supervisor's names are saved and can be selected from a picker so you don't have to type them in again when adding another log entry. • Add up to four custom fields in addition to the default fields listed above in Features. REPORTS • Create reports in password protected PDF format and as a CSV file that is password protected in a ZIP format, as well as a password protected backup of your data, that can then be emailed, sent via AirDrop, sent to your iCloud Drive or Dropbox account, or downloaded using iTunes when your iOS device is connected to your computer. • Reports can be created for a specific date range, location/facility, and one can specify the primary, secondary and tertiary sort order of the PDF report. BACKUP • In addition to backing up to iCloud and/or iTunes, if you have a DropBox account, you can copy the password protected backup file and reports to DropBox from within the Procedure Log app. • You can also use the Files app to transfer files to your iCloud Drive, Dropbox account, or, if you have a Mac computer, use AirDrop to transfer it to your Mac computer. • You can also email the password protected backup file to yourself. SECURITY • App is password protected and all data is encrypted when you log off the app or the app is no longer the active app. • PDF and CSV reports are encrypted and password protected. • Retrieve your username and password if you have forgotten them; you must first answer several security questions in the "Create User" or the "Edit User" views.

"The middle jiao and food has always been of central importance in the Chinese quest for health. Hopefully all practitioners realise the potential of this area and view the legacy of traditional information available from China with respect and awe; this app is a good avenue to access some of this information." Peter Torssell Journal of Chinese Medicine February 2014 "People who practice medicine must first thoroughly understand the source of the disorder and know what has been violated. Then, use food to treat it, and if food will not cure it, afterwards apply herbal medicine." Sun Simiao (Tang Dynasty) The Chinese Nutritional Strategies (CNS) app is a tool designed to allow practitioners of Chinese medicine convenient and complete access to centuries of nutritional insights. The heart of the CNS app is the database of more than 300 common foods, along with their temperature, flavor, actions, indications, notes, seasonal recommendations, and differential diagnosis categories. The database is searchable by any of these criteria and sorting through it allows the practitioner to compile a list of recommended foods, and then share those recommendations via email or as a hard copy with the patient. In addition, all aspects of the database may be altered by the practitioner. For example, this is the data set for watermelon: ======= Temperature: Cold Flavor: Sweet Actions: Enters the heart, stomach and urinary bladder channels, clears heat from heart, stomach and urinary bladder, relieves summer heat, augments yin fluids, drains damp, moistens the intestines Indications: Thirst, mouth sores, palpitations, overheated during the summer with inability to urinate, edema Notes: "Nature's Bai Hu Tang" - Chinese medical saying Wood (Spring): Avoid Fire (Summer): Moderation Earth (Late Summer): Seek out Metal (Fall): Seek out Water (Winter): Avoid Lu Qi Deficiency: Contraindicated Kid Yang Deficiency: Contraindicated Urinary Bladder Damp Cold: Contraindicated Urinary Bladder Damp Heat: Indicated Heart Yang Deficiency: Contraindicated Heart Fire: Indicated Spleen Qi Deficiency: Contraindicated Spleen Yang Deficiency: Contraindicated Stomach Fire: Indicated Stomach Qi Deficiency with Cold: Contraindicated Stomach Food Stagnation: Contraindicated ======= Any of the above characteristics may be altered and saved to the database. For example, the Chinese dietary tradition that you follow may consider watermelon to have a neutral temperature and be indicated for cough. Simply change these characteristics in the database and any future searches for neutral temperature foods or cough will include watermelon in the results. An especially unique feature for the CNS app is the seasonal recommendations feature which addresses the "When" of prescribing Chinese nutrition. Again using the watermelon example, if the practitioner diagnoses urinary bladder damp heat and has the seasonal recommendation feature switched on in the winter then watermelon will be moved from the seek out to the avoid category. This seasonal recommendation feature allows the practitioner to emphasize the local climate and growing seasons when dispensing dietary advice.
