ChordBud 2 is a MIDI chord sequencer for building unique chord progressions in minutes. Under the hood is a powerful music theory engine with over 40 scales. Select the scales to work with and see them laid out top to bottom on one screen, with the chords inside each scale running left to right, compare scales side by side, or borrow chords from one another through modal interchange. By default, every chord inside the current scale and key is presented at once, and the key can be changed anytime. The settings menu also offers chord progressions to work within, showing only the chords that belong to the selected progression. Build as many patterns as needed, each with its own key, scale, and chord progression. Long-press a pattern to copy, paste, or delete it, with full undo/redo backing every edit so experimentation stays risk-free. Patterns can be triggered via MIDI CC messages, enabling automation or a full song mode. Triads are just the starting point — chords can be extended with add/sus/6/7/9/11/13 and more modifiers. Tap any chord on the timeline to open the chord editor and adjust its mode, velocity, octave, inversion, key, or division. Edits apply live while the sequencer plays, so changes are audible immediately. On the timeline, chords can be repositioned by dragging, or resized by dragging their right edge. Pinch to zoom in or out, or zoom in further to work precisely within subdivisions. Standalone, ChordBud 2 includes a built-in piano sampler for instant playback with zero setup, alongside MIDI, virtual MIDI, and Bluetooth MIDI connectivity for hardware and software instruments. An AUv3 plugin version is also available, dropping straight into any DAW to drive instrument tracks from inside a session. RhythmBud is a MIDI effect application that would transform incoming MIDI messages into the rhythmic pattern you will create on its editor. Supports AUv3 Audio Unit plugin, Audiobus, Inter-App Audio (IAA), Ableton Link and Core MIDI (Standalone). It sits between a MIDI sender (external hardware or any MIDI controller/sequencer app) and a MIDI receiver (any audio app or external hardware). As long as you connect its MIDI input and output you are good to go. It has a pretty easy-to-use timeline editor, where you can create rhythm patterns. You may add different effects for your every pattern by tapping them on the timeline, such as strumming effects, arpeggios, transposition, velocity manipulation, ratchets and so on. When you are ready, press the play button and start the RhythmBud engine. As long as it receives MIDI notes, it will generate your rhythm pattern and send it to your assigned MIDI output port. Even if you change the playing note/chord, it will adapt instantly! It has a neat feature called “Snapshots” where you can save the current RhythmBud configuration instantly and come back later. You may also control your snapshots via MIDI CC messages or Audio Unit Parameters. You can create a whole song with that feature in your project. It also supports “User Presets” in AUv3 mode. Another great feature is the “Record Mode” where you can record a pattern by tapping the toolbar—like clapping your hands or snapping your fingers for creating a rhythm pattern! Press the “Done” button when you are done. If you are not happy, you can always undo/redo your actions as well. You can also quantize your pattern on different timing levels. If you want to clear everything and start over again, just press the clear button. RhythmBud is using the open-source AudioKit framework under the hood. MeloVox is an AUv3 vocal harmoniser designed to allow up to 5 simultaneous harmonies. You can either choose to have MeloVox automatically generate harmonies by listening to live input and creating harmonies based on the pitch of the incoming vocal, or you can use MIDI input to choose how to pitch the harmonies. You can choose from one of two algorithms, one more suitable to vocals which includes formant preservation, and another more traditional option for instruments. Unlike many pitch shifters, MeloVox is build on a phase vocoder capable of formant preservation, meaning much more natural sounding vocal harmonies. This is especially noticeable when pitching a vocal up an octave, which results in what is often called the Mickey Mouse effect. This is due to the fact that all frequencies are transposed up, along with the respective peaks in harmonics. This results in a sound which the vocal tract is incapable of producing, so it no longer sounds like a natural voice. MeloVox fixes this issue by preserving the formants. MeloVox is capable of producing up to 5 additional harmonies on top of the original vocal, and how it does that is down to the control mode setting. There are 5 different modes to choose from including Auto Sense, Fixed Pitch and three MIDI controllable modes called Chords, Melody and Vocoder. Auto Sense mode detects the frequency of the incoming vocal, and automatically harmonises using the specified key and scale.
