ConcertinaXL is an easy to play, authentic sounding virtual Anglo Concertina in the most popular key of C/G and may be transposed +/- one octave in semitone increments. It is played using the exact same fingerings as the real instrument. The layout is based on a common modern variant of the standard Jeffries layout, with three C# notes on the first two buttons of the right side top row. The Anglo Concertina is commonly used for playing traditional Irish dance tunes, and is a much-favored instrument in County Clare, Ireland. The instrument is bisonoric, meaning the instrument plays a different note for each button depending on whether you are pushing or pulling on the bellows. A C/G tuned instrument has the middle row in the key of C on the press, and the bottom row in the key of G on the press. The top row consists of the accidentals missing from the other two rows and alternate direction notes for notes on the other rows. ConcertinaXL is the perfect app for someone interested in the Anglo Concertina to have an experience of playing the instrument and become familiar with the button layout without the expense of purchasing a real concertina. For experienced players, it can serve as a practice aid when it might be impractical to play the real instrument. In the app, to play, place your iPhone or iPad on your leg and simply tip the device to the left for a bellows push note, or to the right for a bellows pull note, and press a button. Since you may want to play chords with more than 3 or 4 fingers, you'll need to turn off "Multitasking Gestures" in your iPad's Settings, under General/Multitasking Gestures. For a Bb/F concertina, set the transpose to -2, for an A/E, set the transpose to -3. For a Bass Baritone concertina, one octave lower than a standard C/G instrument, set the transpose to -12. When transposed, the note labels do not change, just the pitch produced. Touch "Calibrate" to reset the home position for tilting. All settings are saved when the app exits. Gaussian Blur is a bloom reverb Audio Unit (AUv3) plugin. It splits incoming audio into overlapping grains and sends them into a plate-style reverb tail. You control how long the grains are, when they play, how much they blend together and how long they ring out. Use it to turn vocals into slow swells or smear guitar chords into ambient pads. CONTROL WHEN THE REVERB BUILDS The bloom curve spreads the grains out over time or bunches them around one moment. TapeDesk is a four-track tape with a synth beside it, for iPhone and iPad. A song can start on the phone's mic and leave the app as a mixed file. tape A take goes onto the armed track when you press rec. The speed fader runs from 0.25x to 2x and the pitch moves with it, so at half speed the whole song sits an octave lower. With loop on, each pass adds a layer over the last one. For recording alone there is a threshold on rec, and the take waits for the first sound. A tape holds ten minutes on four or six tracks, and each take becomes a region you can cut or reverse from the edit bar. A reversed region wears a small ◁. Dragging the tape, you feel a light tap at each ruler mark and a firmer one at bar numbers and region edges. A cut can be found almost without looking. With sources, one pass records several tracks at once. The synth can go to one track and your voice to another, or each channel of an audio interface to a track of its own. synth The synth has eleven engines, from drift, a slow swarm of detuned voices, to dx, a six-operator FM engine that loads .syx cartridges. Two more engines play samples. sample spreads one sound across the keyboard, and kit is a drum machine with 24 pads that take a file, the mic, a track from the tape or the sound of a video. The factory kits include an orchestral one with timpani and a junk one made of anvils, brake drums, a flexatone and a wine glass. On kit, chop slices one sound across the empty pads. The tape remembers which sound each track was recorded with, for the day you forget. seq keys only plays the notes of the scale, and chords puts a whole chord under each finger. How loud a note sounds comes from how the finger lands, read from the touch and the accelerometer, or from the pressure of an Apple Pencil. The sequencer has an arpeggiator and a 16-step mode, and the die re-rolls the pattern inside the scale, with one swipe to take the roll back. In ping, balls bounce between bells on a pool table, and every bounce plays a note. Fair warning, it is hard to stop watching. eucalyptus is a piano roll that loops until you print one pass of it to tape. mix The mixer has two effect buses with seven effects and room for any AUv3 effect you have installed. On tapesat, the age knob takes the tape from new to an old cassette, hiss and wow included. The master eq has four bands, drawn with a finger. plugin Inside a host such as AUM, the tape and the synth open as AUv3 plugins, TapeDesk: Tape and TapeDesk: Play. The tape plugin records when the host plays and takes up to six of its inputs. Whatever it records is waiting in the app afterwards. It runs on iPhone in portrait and on iPad in any orientation, in fifteen languages. There is no account, and no data is collected. XAir Monitor Mixer is a personal monitor mixer for select Behringer and Midas digital mixers. It allows each musician on stage to choose exactly what they hear in their monitor without affecting (or being able to affect, even by accident) the band's main mix. XAir Monitor Mixer supports the Behringer X18, XR18, XR16, XR12, and the Midas MR18 and MR12. XAir Monitor Mixer deliberately does not include controls that would allow a musician on stage to accidentally mute channels or otherwise alter the main mix. Usage: 1. Connect to the same WiFi network as the XR18. In most cases, this should be enough for the app to find your mixer. However, if your sound engineer has changed the default address of the mixer, you'll have to enter that address in the app's connection screen. 2. Choose which monitor you want to mix. If your sound engineer hasn't named these in a way that makes it obvious which is yours, ask him which is yours. 3.
