This is made possible by some fancy features for efficient cross-frame palettes and temporal dithering. Keep in mind that Gifski is a converter, not a GIF creator. It will never support features like adding text and elements to a GIF. Just select Gifski from the Share menu of any macOS app. You can share a macOS screen recording with Gifski by clicking on the thumbnail that pops up once you are done recording and selecting “Share” from there. ■ System service Gifski includes a system service that lets you quickly convert a video to GIF from the “Services” menu in any app that provides a compatible video file. ■ Bounce (yo-yo) GIF playback Gifski includes the option to create GIFs that bounce back and forth between forward and backward playback. This option doubles the number of frames in the GIF so the file size will double as well. ■ Tips ‣ Quickly copy or save the GIF After converting, press Command+C to copy the GIF or Command+S to save it. ‣ Change GIF dimensions with the keyboard In the width/height input fields in the editor view, press the arrow up/down keys to change the value by 1. RoughCut transcribes it, detects silences and can use AI to identify retakes, false starts and tangents. The result is an editable FCPXML timeline linked to your original media. Nothing is re-rendered. YOU STAY THE EDITOR Review each decision with its transcript and confidence score. Listen, change Keep/Remove, and recompute without another AI edit. During AI work, an animated indicator, live elapsed time and guidance from recent jobs show what is happening. TWO TIMELINES, ONE EXPORT With RoughCut Pro's annotated timeline enabled, choose one destination folder to save both files: Cleaned Cut, with cuts applied, and Annotated Review, with speech decisions available as labelled, colour-coded clips. Reasons and markers help you review in Final Cut Pro. Silences are already cut unless you choose to include them. Earlier exports are preserved. YOUR AI PROVIDER, YOUR KEY OpenAI with GPT-5.6 Sol and medium reasoning is the default for new installations. Gemini and Claude are also available, and existing provider/custom-model choices are preserved. API usage is billed separately by your provider, not included in your RoughCut purchase. Choose models, set the reasoning level on models that support it, and estimate editing cost in Settings. Refresh OpenAI, Gemini or Claude models using your saved key, compare dated token prices, or enter custom model prices. Astra is an optional choice; Sol remains the default. Estimates are planning examples, not guaranteed charges. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Transcription runs on your Mac after a one-time speech-model download of about 1.6 GB. AI editing sends transcript text directly to your chosen provider under your own Keychain-stored key. Optional Cloud transcription sends audio directly to OpenAI only for jobs where you select it.
