EAPTest is a tool for networking professionals working in 802.1x secure network access environments. EAPTest allows testing of authentication and accounting on RADIUS Servers. Authentication protocols include PAP and the common Extended Authentication Protocol (EAP) methods. The tool greatly facilitates the setup and troubleshooting in 802.1x environments. RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial In User Service) is a networking protocol that provides centralized Authentication, Authorization and Accounting for users connecting to a wired or wireless secure network. When a client connects to a wired network access switch or to a wireless network access point, before access is granted, valid credentials (user and password) must be provide by the user to the network device. This device validates the user credentials communicating with an Authentication Server. The Authentication Server checks the credentials and responds to the network device accepting or rejecting the user and optionally providing information about the privileges that should been assigned to the user. Clients authenticates to the network using the 802.1x protocol. Network devices validates user credentials using the RADIUS protocol. Several methods to protect the user credentials sent from the client to the Authentication Server are available. These methods are defined in the EAP protocol (Extended Authentication Protocol). EAPTest supported methods are EAP-TTLS, PEAP, EAP-TLS, EAP-MSCHAPv2, EAP-MD5 and EAP-GTC. For EAP-TTLS is possible to use PAP, CHAP, MSCHAP, MSCHAPv2, MD5 and GTC as inner methods. For PEAP, the inner methods available are MSCHAPv2, MD5 and GTC. In addition the PAP and CHAP methods are also implemented. Information about the type of network access such as access device, wireless network or location are sent to the Authentication Server through attributes contained in the RADIUS messages.Information about an authenticated user is also returned by the Server using attributes. EAPTest simulates both the client and the network access device communicating with the Authentication Server providing a real time graphical view of the RADIUS messages interchanged with the Authentication Server. All RADIUS attributes contained in the messages are shown, including information about the Digital Certificates received from the server for TTLS and PEAP methods. Attributes sent to the Authentication Server can be specified in order to test all the possible scenarios. RADIUS attributes are defined in an EAPTest dictionary database that can be easily extended importing dictionary files. RFC2865, 2868, 3162 and 3576 standard attributes and vendor specific dictionaries from Microsoft, Cisco and Aruba are included. Starting with version 2.0.0 the tool supports Performance Tests. You can select the number of Concurrent Requests sent to the authenticacion server simulating a number of clients performing authentications simultaneously setting the workload requested to the server. Starting with version 3.0.0 full session simulation is implemented. Accounting updates can be automatically sent to the authentication server and dynamic RADIUS messages (Disconnect and CoA) can be received and acknowledged. Cut and paste files and folders in Finder using Command+X and Command+V. Without this app, you have to first copy (Command+C) and then remember to move (Option+Command+V). You simply set up the app once and it runs in the background. The moving of files and folders are handled by Finder. The app just intercepts cut and paste commands when Finder is in the front and then simulates copy and move commands. If you don't paste after cutting, nothing happens and the files stay in place. It also works with the ForkLift app. Limitation: You cannot cut the name of a file when editing a filename in Finder or cut when using the search field. There is no way for the app to work around this.

Introduction A RAM disk has the advantage that reading and writing data are extremely fast. In addition, no mechanical wear and tear or noise will occur. These properties make it the ideal storage place for files experiencing intensive read or write actions like databases or files which have to be temporarily saved very often, and also for games. Since data in RAM are not permanently saved but will disappear when a shutdown or a restart occurs, it is absolutely necessary that important files residing on a RAM disk will be backupped in very short intervals. RAMDisk offers an easy and comfortable management for a RAM disk and its contents and in addition it can serve as a general backup software for your hard disk. Files can be backupped in intervals as small as 1 second and folders in intervals as small as 1 minute. Time Machine does an excellent job backing up your data every hour, however, it will not backup open files. RAMDisk will backup open files and also offers the possibility to backup individual files. The general backup management RAMDisk has a Tasks menu containing several commands, among them are the commands "Backup file" and "Backup folder". Choosing one of them will bring up three consecutive dialog windows to choose the source and target file/folder and the respective backup interval. In case of backing up a file the time interval has to be given in seconds and for a folder in minutes. RAMDisk will then start a new copy (clone) of itself running in the background that will monitor the source issuing the unix command rsync -a source target periodically. When the source will then differ from the target rsync will make an (incremental) backup. The option "-a" implies that subfolders are included recursively. Hence, specifying your home directory as source will imply that all files in your home directory will be included in the backup. The management of the RAM disk The "Create RAM disk" command in the Tasks menu will create a RAM disk, named Ramdisk, where you only have to specify its capacity in MB. The capacity of the last RAM Disk created this way will always be stored and when, e.g., after a restart, you want to recreate the RAM disk this will achieved by the command "Recreate last RAM disk". When you have backupped your RAM disk at least once, then, after a restart, and after having used the command "Recreate last RAM disk", you can use the command "Restore the contents of last RAM disk", and finally "Backup last RAM disk", where all required data will be looked up.

RAMdrive Pro gives you a fast workspace on your Mac — a RAMdrive folder in Finder whose files live in memory while the app is running. Use it for temporary files, build caches, scratch work, or anything where speed matters more than keeping data on a traditional disk. How it works • Menu bar control — Add RAMdrive to Finder, open it, or remove it from the sidebar. No Dock icon unless a window is open. • Finder → Locations — RAMdrive appears like iCloud Drive, not as a separate disk in Disk Utility. • Automatic size — No size to choose. RAMdrive grows as you add files, limited by available RAM. Check usage in the menu bar (N files — X bytes). • Save to disk (optional) — In Settings, turn on Save to disk to keep a copy under the app’s storage so files can be restored after you quit and relaunch.
