This app the second in the "pilot helper" series is aimed at helping you out with all those pesky acronyms and contractions. This application is for professional and private Pilots. It is a compact search tool used to help with NOTAM / Weather Contractions (Acronyms) either inflight or on the ground. On the Ground this app helps you interpret complex NOTAMs and un-decoded METARs/ TAF’s / Area Forecasts, etc.. As a pilot you often review your NOTAMS again in the air when close to your destination as a reminder, it is impractical to go looking up contracts at this stage of the flight but this app makes that simple. Simply type in the first few characters of the contraction and the list will narrow down showing you the definition you need to understand the information you have. E.G. if looking for the meaning of "PAEW" you just type in part of the contraction "pa" and you will see the list narrow down to similar contractions with the definition adjacent to it in this case “Personnel and Equipment Working”.

Depending on your current position and your device one of the two methods is more correct. Using GPS on the device is known for a large error in the altitude for difficult receiver conditions it's not available for network based positioning at all. The Mizrach compass is designed to help you know in which direction Jewish people pray. Technically, it plots the location of the Kodesh Hakodashim (31° 46' 40.8" N, 35° 14' 7.44" E), which is near the Kotel (Western Wall) in Jerusalem. It then uses your current longitude, latitude plus the built in digital compass to point you in that direction. When you are in the vicinity of the right location, the word "Mizrach," which means east, will light up. You know you are getting close to pointing towards Mizrach when the blue arrow is facing the word Mizrach. Hold iPhone level to the ground. If the iPhone has a hard time figuring out the direction, move away from any magnetic interference and/or wave the iPhone in a figure eight. It is important to note that compass reliability may be affected by usage conditions such as nearby magnetic fields. The accuracy of digital compass headings may be negatively affected by magnetic or other environmental interference, including interference caused by the close proximity of the magnets contained in the iPhone earbuds. The digital compass should only be used for basic navigation assistance and should not be solely relied on to determine precise locations, proximity, distance, or direction.
