This is the Optigan for iOS. The Optigan, short for Optical Organ, was a chord organ from the early 1970’s. It is remembered today for its unique system of sound reproduction using optical discs. These LP-sized film discs were optically encoded with 57 concentric tracks, which contained loops of musical combos playing chord patterns in different styles. Each disc contained a specific style of music (Bossa Nova, Big Band etc) which the user could control by pressing the chord buttons. Changing the discs was as simple as putting a new record on your turntable. Think of it as the 1971 version of GarageBand. With SonoSequencr you can create individual sequences to perform recurring tasks with just one click. If you have multiple Sonos devices and want to play a radio station on all of them, it takes some time to set this up. OktaDie is not a subtractive synth with a fancy front panel: it is a machine that responds to touch, drifts on its own, and never produces exactly the same sound twice. Inspired by the legendary analogue "organismic synthesizer", OktaDie follows the same philosophy: the envelope is part of the oscillator, not a VCA after it; noise, bleed and crosstalk are features, not defects; and every position of every control is designed to produce a usable soundscape. TOTAL FB feeds the post-distortion output back in, turning the entire instrument - envelopes, delay and drive included - into one giant FM structure. HYPER LFO Two LFOs combined by an AND/OR formula, plus a link that lets the first modulate the second. It drives the voice pairs and the delay. MOD DELAY AND DRIVE Two delay lines with cross-feedback, each with its own time and modulation depth. Times follow the Hyper LFO or the lines' own output. You can adjust how many bars are solid at the start then how many bars are solid and how many bars are muted which will cycle for the duration of the session. You can also select "random" mode and a % of bars (that you set) that will be dropped for an even more challenging practice session! • Random Beat Drop • does exactly what it says on the tin... some of the beats (clicks) will be muted at random, forcing you to be confident with your time and not rely on the click too much. Many people chase the beat or try and anticipate it, and this exercise will help you stop those bad habits! I've personally found that the "gradual" setting is most useful, a five minute session starting at 100% with more and more beats muted up to the % that you set. • Speed Up • is a tool I have wanted for years for my own practice so now I made one. Often when working on scales, arpeggios or licks you want to start at an easy speed where you are playing it 100% correctly and gradually push your technique by playing it faster and faster. With this tool you set a start tempo, end tempo and duration of you practice session and off you go, no more stopping to bump the bpm up a few notches every minute! • Step Upper • Many people requested that we make a programmable mode, most likely to be used to be able to move from one consistent tempo to another, rather than the gradual increase you get in the Speed Upper. You can program a tempo for X number of bars OR minutes :) • Subdivisions • Another heavily requested feature was to add in subdivisions for those that need to hear them, and for super slow tempo's where having subdivisions can be really helpful! iShala is an Indian music mobile app that provides flawless accompaniment for classical music practice, be it vocal, instrumental or rhythmic.
